COORDINATION  CHECKLIST

 

 

The following items should be coordinated with Architects prior to designing the project.

 

___  1.            Sheet numbering system.

 

___  2.            Sheet size and title block.

 

___  3.            Specification format - book or on plans?.  Need specification sheet example.

 

___  4.            Who paints exposed ductwork and piping?  Who paints inside of ductwork above air devices?  Should be GC.  If  G.C., then the Architect must include in specifications.

 

___  5.            Who furnishes equipment roof curbs?  We recommend Mechanical Contractor.  G.C. must install and coordinate with roof slope and size.  Always use 24” min.

 

___  6.            Who fire proofs around M/E/P penetrations?  We recommend G.C.  If G.C., Architect must include in specifications.

 

___  7.            Who furnishes louvers on outside wall?  We recommend mechanical contractor unless special louvers are desired.  Architect needs to specify that G.C. installs these louvers (15936).

 

___  8.            Who furnishes door grilles?  BCA shows grilles on mechanical plan, Architect includes in door schedules, G.C. provides (15936).

 

___  9.            Soffits for ductwork.  Ceiling heights.

 

___  10.        Chase sizes for insulated piping, ductwork, and electrical.  Engineer to show size to scale on our drawings.

 

___  11.        Reflected ceiling plan.  Architect to show ceiling grid with lighting layout, Engineer to provide locations of lights and diffusers, sprinkler heads.

 

___  12.        Any special types of sinks or faucets?

 

___  13.        Mechanical and electrical room locations and sizes.  NOISE!

 

___  14.        Ceiling space for ductwork.  (2” ceiling, 6” lights, 4” F.P., 18” ductwork) = 30” Clearance (small jobs), 36” Clearance (larger jobs).
